This Apple & Bacon Pizza is a cozy fall twist on a classic pizza. Sweet, thinly sliced apples pair perfectly with smoky bacon, seasoned ground beef, and melty mozzarella on a crisp crust. Finished with caramelized onions and a drizzle of honey or balsamic glaze.

Ingredients
  

For the Pizza
  • 1 lb Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ lb Ground beef
  • 4-5 slices thick-cut bacon chopped
  • 1 Medium yellow onion thinly sliced
  • cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika optional
Optional Garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1-2 tsp Honey or balsamic glaze
  • Fresh thyme or parsley

Method
 

  1. Preheat the Oven
    Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat.
  2. Cook the Bacon & Ground Beef
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, cook the ground beef with a pinch of salt, pepper, and smoked paprika until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Caramelize the Onions (Optional but Recommended)
    In a small pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil and cook the sliced onions over medium-low heat, stirring often, until golden and soft (about 25-30 minutes).
  4. Prepare the Pizza Dough
    On a lightly floured surface, roll out your dough to your desired thickness. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
    In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic together. Brush this mixture evenly over the entire surface of the dough, especially the edges. This gives the crust a rich, garlicky flavor and helps it bake to a beautiful golden brown.
  5. Assemble the Pizza
    Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough.
    Scatter cooked ground beef and crispy bacon on top.
    Add caramelized onions and arrange thin apple slices across the pizza.
    Sprinkle a tiny pinch of salt and pepper over the apples to enhance their flavor.
  6. Bake the Pizza
    Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  7. Add Finishing Touches
    Drizzle lightly with honey or balsamic glaze for a sweet finishing note.
    Add freshly grated parmesan cheese
    Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley for color and flavor.
