Brie & Cranberry Tartlets

These Brie & Cranberry Tartlets with Orange Zest are a cozy, elegant fall appetizer. Ingredients
  

For the Tartlets
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz Brie cheese cut into small pieces
  • ½ cup Cranberry sauce fresh, canned, or homemade
  • Zest of ½ small orange (about 1 tsp), optional
  • 1 Egg beaten (for egg wash)
Optional Garnishes
  • Chopped toasted pecans or walnuts
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary leaves
  • Honey drizzle

Equipment

  • Mini muffin tin
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife or pastry cutter
  • Cutting Board
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush
  • Measuring Spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry
    Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
    Cut into 12 squares (or use mini tartlet pans).
    Press squares into a greased mini muffin tin or tartlet molds, creating little cups.
  3. Assemble the Tartlets
    Place a small piece of Brie in the bottom of each pastry cup.
    Mix cranberry sauce with orange zest (optional), then spoon about 1 tsp on top of the Brie.
    Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  4. Bake
    Bake 12–15 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden and Brie is melted.
    Keep an eye on them, puff pastry can brown quickly.
  5. Garnish & Serve
    Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
    Optional: sprinkle with toasted nuts, drizzle with honey, or add a few fresh thyme leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
    Serve warm or at room temperature.
