Ingredients

  • 18 Mini candy canes

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 200°F (120°C).
  2. Prepare Your Candy Canes
Unwrap all your mini candy canes and set them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    For each bow, you’ll need:
    Two full mini candy canes
One candy cane with the curved end snapped off (the curved section will be used as the center knot)
  3. Arrange the Bow Shapes
Lay two candy canes next to each other with their curved ends facing in toward each other and overlay the ends, creating a bow shape.
Keep the curved piece you broke off nearby, you’ll use it in a minute.
  4. Soften in the Oven
Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the candy canes soften for 6-8 minutes. You’re not trying to melt them completely, just soften them enough that they bend easily.
Keep a close eye on them, if they start to lose their shape or bubble, they’ve gone too far.
  5. Shape the Bow
Remove the tray from the oven and work quickly. Use your fingers or a toothpick to gently press the two candy canes together where they overlay.
  6. Add the Center Knot
Take the small curved section you broke off earlier and press it across the center of the two loops, forming the bow’s “knot.” You can press it gently so it sticks while the candy is still warm.
If it doesn’t adhere easily, you can put them back in the oven for another 6-8 minutes.
  7. Cool and Harden
Let the bows cool completely on the baking sheet. As they cool, they’ll harden into solid, glossy candy shapes that hold beautifully. Once cooled, carefully lift them from the parchment.
