Preheat the oven to 375°F and generously grease your 10-inch pie dish with butter or cooking spray. Make sure your cooked sausage is well-drained.
In a bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs and 1/4 cup of milk. Stir in 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar and 1/3 of the dry herb seasoning packet.
In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of the dry biscuit mix with 1/3 cup of cold water and another 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese. Stir gently just until a soft dough forms.
Scatter the cooked sausage across the bottom of the pie dish. Pour the egg mixture over it. Drop small, rounded tablespoons of the biscuit dough over the top, leaving spaces for steam to escape. Top with the remaining 1/4 cup of cheese.
Bake for 22 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the 4 tbsp of melted butter with the remaining herb packet seasoning. At 22 minutes, drizzle the savory garlic butter generously over the biscuit peaks. Bake for an additional 6–10 minutes until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean and the biscuits are a deep, glossy golden brown.
