Jalapeño Popper Puff Pastry Twists with Cool Ranch-Style Dip

Ingredients
  

For Jalapeno Popper Twists
  • 2 Sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese or a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack
  • 2-3 Fresh jalapenos seeds removed and finely diced (use pickled for a milder flavor)
  • 2 Green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds/ parmesan for topping
For Cool Ranch-Style Dip
  • ½ cup Sour cream
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice or lime juice
  • 1 clove Garlic grated or finely minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)`
  • 1 tbsp Fresh chives chopped (or green onion)
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Mixing bowls
  • Sharp knife or pizza cutter
  • Pastry brush
  • Measuring cups or spoons

Method
 

  1. Prep the Puff Pastry
    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Roll each sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle, about 12x10 inches.
  2. Make the Filling
    In a medium bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, diced jalapeños, and green onions.
  3. Assemble
    Spread the filling evenly over one sheet of puff pastry. Lay the second sheet directly on top, pressing gently to sandwich the filling.
  4. Cut & Twist
    Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide. Twist each strip several times and arrange on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush & Sprinkle
    Brush each twist with the beaten egg to give them that golden bakery shine. Sprinkle generously with everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or even grated Parmesan.
  6. Bake
    Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Make the Cool Ranch-Style Dip
    While the twists bake, whip up the dip. In a bowl, stir together sour cream, mayo, lemon juice, and garlic.
    Fold in dill, chives, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper.
    Chill for at least 20 minutes to let the flavors mingle.
