Servings: 2 Cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Water

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Slotted spoon
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet
  • Shallow bowl

Method

  1. Make the Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Don’t let it boil.
  2. Coat the Cranberries:
Remove from heat and add the cranberries. Stir gently to coat them evenly in the syrup. Let them sit in the syrup for 5 minutes.
  3. Dry:
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a wire rack or parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread them out in a single layer and let them dry for about 45 minutes to an hour, until tacky but not wet.
  4. Sugar Coat:
Roll the cranberries a few at a time in a shallow bowl of sugar, coating all sides. Transfer to a clean parchment-lined sheet to set.
