- Make the Syrup:In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Don’t let it boil.
- Coat the Cranberries:Remove from heat and add the cranberries. Stir gently to coat them evenly in the syrup. Let them sit in the syrup for 5 minutes.
- Dry: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a wire rack or parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread them out in a single layer and let them dry for about 45 minutes to an hour, until tacky but not wet.
- Sugar Coat:Roll the cranberries a few at a time in a shallow bowl of sugar, coating all sides. Transfer to a clean parchment-lined sheet to set.
